ADVANCING SCIENCE FOR SUSTAINABLE AROMATIC PLANT SYSTEMS

Dendron Scientific advances the sustainable use of aromatic plants by generating rigorous scientific evidence that informs responsible harvesting, forest management, and biodiversity conservation within essential oil and fragrance supply chains. We succeed when our science changes how aromatic plants are harvested, managed, and valued — by industry, policymakers, and land managers.
OUR MISSION
WHO WE ARE

Dendron Scientific is a for-profit, science-driven research organization that addresses critical knowledge gaps in the biology, ecology, and sustainable management of aromatic plant species under commercial pressure. We work at the interface of botany, forest ecology, chemistry, and socio-ecological systems to ensure that aromatic plant resources remain viable, traceable, and ecologically resilient.

LEADERSHIP
Dr. Luis Flores
Founder & Principal Investigator
Over 25 years of global experience at the intersection of agricultural science, sustainability, and international supply chains. Dr. Flores has led applied research and strategic initiatives across more than 20 countries, supporting private-sector companies, development institutions, and research organizations focused on high-value crops, spices, and essential oils.
He has extensive experience translating field-based biological research into practical guidance for industry, including sourcing strategies, sustainability frameworks, and risk mitigation approaches. His recent leadership on torchwood (Amyris spp.) research in Hispaniola and research agendas with aromatic plants in Indonesia, Albania, Honduras, and Guatemala directly supports essential oil producers seeking science-based solutions to resource constraints, regulatory complexity, and long-term supply security.
Known for bridging science and business, Dr. Flores has worked with multinational firms, producer organizations, and government counterparts to design programs that align ecological realities with commercial objectives.
